Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for window shades! I finally, after a year of being in this house, installed some lovely window shades. I found them on a website called http://www.theshadestore.com/ and fell in love with the selection. Check it out!

I am thankful for PERO. I recently found out through Alice, aka Funny Mom, that the delicious coffee substitute, Postum, has been discontinued. After confirming this info and working through the various stages of depression (shock, denial, anger, etc..), I was open minded enough to try another substitute. PERO is product of Switzerland that is made from malted barley, barley and chicory. It's great, but FYI, you have to use double the amount recommended per cup. Also, it's better with full fat cream rather than milk.

Finally, I am grateful for our new chapel!!!! Our bishop announced our new chapel will be built right here in town. This means a 5 minute drive rather than a 25 minute drive. With 3 kids in weekly church activities, and one getting dragged along, this is definitely reason to raise the roof!!! You know, if you're hopelessly out of touch like me.

New building is so close I could walk... but of course I won't ;) I am really excited about it too. I am really glad you have a new drink substitute for Postum, whew!

you are KILLING me with the pero--my mom used to drink it religiously and i thought it tasted like burnt tires. but then i'd shake half a bottle of sugar into it and it would taste alright ;)

That's great, we go to a Tongan ward so we drive 35 minutes, with lights and cows, about 40-45. I am jelous!!!

I LUV Postum- so sad. I have used Pero before and I guess it will have to do...
Woo hoo on the new chapel! Nice to have it close plus I love the new layouts of the buildings now. We have a really old building without a nursing room (they converted a shower in the womens room by the font into a place to change diapers and nurse if you really have to :)

I forgot about that Postum post...i can't even refind it on my blog..I was trying to remember if I mentioned Pero. I think Postum is way better but you know, you can drink anything with enough cream and sugar...excpet coffee of course.

yeah for your new chapel...we are supposed to be getting a new stake center...we are hoping for closer rather than farther.

"My professional life has been centered on the home, the well being of the family and everything that these subjects encompass. When I began working in this area more than 25 years ago, the subject of homemaking as it relates to families was largely overlooked, though the interest was clearly broad and the desire for information strong. My colleagues and I soon discovered we were satisfying a deeply felt unmet need."
