Yes or No?

I've been wanting to stencil a cool pattern on an accent wall in my dining room, but I can't decide what to do. My pretty friend Sarah M. gave me some plastic sheets months ago to cut out a pattern on, so I'm ready to do this thing!.... I think.
What do you think about a modern geometric pattern like this zigzag? I really like it, but I don't know.

I could also do a floral or damask pattern. Damask was my original choice, but I'm afraid it'll look too stuffy.
So, yes or no to stenciling, or a particular pattern... what do you think?
Maybe I should go super Martha and do a faux bois pattern? That wouldn't be a stencil project though, and I really don't want to buy anymore craft supplies.

I love the zig zag! I would love to help you with it and perhaps learn how to myself. Call me when you're ready.

I like the zigzag in muted colours...like the picture. I am actually a bigger fan of damask ...but if I wanted that print, I would stick with a wallpaper or fabric (accent pillows etc), just because with all the detail, I'd worry that the stencilling job wouldn't look great. But then that defeats the purpose of the project.

But then, I have never lived anywhere that looks as great as your army apartment did...

My daughter-in-law -- not the one you know ;o) -- just stenciled her dining room walls in a quatrefoil pattern. It was gorgeous! I prefer a damask. I think it's easier on the eyes.

I am all for the damask as well. Also I would love to help you do it so I can learn how/tips and tricks. I want to do a tree stencil in my dining room but I am gun shy.

HA! Sarah is right. Best YW Pres ever :).

My opinion is do what you love. If you wanna know what I happen to love though, here it is!

CHEVRON STRIPES! I have that same pic in my design file. Love it immensely. I also ADORE faux bois and would consider purchasing the tools to do it myself. Maybe we could collaborate on that?

I do like damask but I am very picky about how it is done. I think it would look stuffy unless offset by a rock poster or maybe a big rustic bench or something. I think you know what I mean.

"My professional life has been centered on the home, the well being of the family and everything that these subjects encompass. When I began working in this area more than 25 years ago, the subject of homemaking as it relates to families was largely overlooked, though the interest was clearly broad and the desire for information strong. My colleagues and I soon discovered we were satisfying a deeply felt unmet need."
