Raise the Roof

What a great country we live in! There are so many things we Americans enjoy and take for granted that are truly blessings in our lives. We had a talk in church a few weeks ago about this very thing. This speaker had statistics that broke down income levels worldwide and again reminded me to not only appreciate our standard of living but to also remember the responsibility that goes along with that! We all need reminders sometimes, right?

It's difficult to predict the changes that will occur over the next few years with whatevever candidate wins the presidential election. We've really got a mixed bag, Republican or Democrat, but you know, I honestly feel like I'm having to choose the lesser of the evils! There's only one candidate that, from the beginning, has remained constant and doesn't seem to give into the pressures of the political machine and that's my quirky man Ron Paul. It's too bad he's probably not going to get a nomination even though he's run a fantastic grass roots campaign!! I think you have to have tons of money, a niche (gender, race, religion, looks, history) to get the attention of our media/population. Good or bad, any press will win you some votes simply by getting your name out there!

I really believe that our civil liberties are at stake and it seems like a lot of people have forgotten what our country was founded on. The Constitution has pretty much been thrown out the window and it's truly a shame.

I am not a Democrat, and will vote for whatever Republican that runs simply to keep the likes of Hillary or Obama OUT!!! Having said that, McCain is 3rd on my list of least favorites even if he is a veteran. Contrary to popular belief, having served in the military doesn't mean you're a lifelong patriot or saint... even POW's.

There's been a lot of attention given to Romney and I think it's great for our church. President Hinkley encouraged us to raise our voices and what better way than having a member run for president! He even said to Romney, "It'll be a great experience if you win, and a great experience if you lose." Funny.

While I don't get the weird feeling from Romney, I simply don't support his foreign policy and I question his voting record.

Whatever happens, I hope it at least jump starts our economy and ends this war. "Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace"... I love that quote because it's so ridiculous. I just read that we are at a record high deficit. That's not good! But- it makes me even more determined to get our food storage in order and follow our prophet's guidance by being prepared in every way. You never know what will happen, but again, what a blessing it is to be free to influence change and share our opinions without punishment.

Although I was a little scared after my Oprah (dry heave) post. You guys got my back right?

A Ron Paul Presidency will...
-return the United States to Constitutional Law
-eliminate IRS & Income Tax
-end the war in Iraq
-protect and control our national borders
-stop the national ID card
-end the `Patriot Act
-return to a gold backed dollar
-reduce size of our Federal Government
-eliminate control of our lives and privacy
-keep the internet free

Here's proof!.............Congressman Dr. Ron Paul voted AGAINST the Iraq War; AGAINST the National ID Act; AGAINST regulating the internet; He never voted for an unbalanced budget; he never voted to raise Congressional pay, and he never voted for an unconstitutional bill. The success and enthusiasm for Ron Paul for President comes directly from the people. It's time to take our country back today.

Well, you know how I feel about the candidate that I want to win. But, I also respect your right to flaunt your views! In fact, I welcome it...You have some good points for Paul.

Either way, we will both probably be stuck with our lost and forgotten candidates tomorrow. Oh, I am so excited to get a democrat in office...especially one of the two clowns or McCain - he is essentially a democrat.

"My professional life has been centered on the home, the well being of the family and everything that these subjects encompass. When I began working in this area more than 25 years ago, the subject of homemaking as it relates to families was largely overlooked, though the interest was clearly broad and the desire for information strong. My colleagues and I soon discovered we were satisfying a deeply felt unmet need."
