Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for excessive spring rains... even though it's killing my roses! My peonies, on the other hand, are doing quite well, along with the lavender and lilies. I onlylost a couple of plants over the winter, so I'm grateful for that as well!
I am thankful for the Olive Garden's new awesome dessert!!!! You have to go try it. It's called "Zeppoli" and is a plate full of chewy sweet fried dough covered in emulsified vanilla sugar, served with warm chocolate on the side for dipping. I know this sounds like a powdered doughnut, but it's not at all! I'm telling you, if I'm ever on death row, this is what I will request for my last dessert..... hmm do you even get a dessert option, or is it just a last "meal"? Technically dessert is part of a meal, right? Hopefully this will never be an issue.

I am thankful for sewing and new sewing machines. Here's a little purse I made for one of our YW who is going to the LDS prom. It was a lot of fun to make, especially the flower detail on the side!
I am thankful for creative friends who graciously share their ideas and time with others. I made this fun cake in Chicago over Easter break and it was a hit thanks to my BFF Emily S. You know, between her, Jackie L., Chelsea H., Stacey H. etc, etc., not to mention my excellent blogging friends, I am sure to become the Korean Martha!!!

Where to start...First of all you peonies are gorgeous! I can't wait for mine to start blooming. That dessert looks incredible. I may have to try to concoct something like that tomorrow. The clutch is the cutest thing ever. Seriously, that is so cute and I love the flower detail. And the cake -- awesome. Ever thought of moving to Colorado -- you could become my neighbor?

"My professional life has been centered on the home, the well being of the family and everything that these subjects encompass. When I began working in this area more than 25 years ago, the subject of homemaking as it relates to families was largely overlooked, though the interest was clearly broad and the desire for information strong. My colleagues and I soon discovered we were satisfying a deeply felt unmet need."
