The Big Parade and Clara

This weekend was a crazy one. In all the hustle and bustle, we missed a few fun activities, but in December, you have to pick and choose, right?!
One of the things we were able to do is get Grace to the couple of "Nutcracker" activities she participated in. She was so excited to get her "Clara" a.k.a. "Marie" costume out again this year, and on Saturday night, she was in character for our city's Christmas parade.

Well, because of our crazy schedule, I wasn't as prepared as I should or could have been, taking into account the freezing temperatures she'd be exposed to. So we layered and layered, used those "Hot Hands" and "Hot Feet", and in one hour, I was able to make some matching winter wear to cover her ears, neck and hands! Hot Glue is my new best friend.... sorry Velcro.

She looks so adorable! I bet she did some great waving in the parade.

She was as cold as a eskimo but as cute as a button!

I had no idea we even had a parade. Forrest went out to run errands on Saturday and asked why all the roads were closed. I think sometimes I live with my head in a hole. Grace looks stunning and adorable and so winter cheery!

She looks so cute and I am sure you put shoes on that child before she went out the door...right?

"My professional life has been centered on the home, the well being of the family and everything that these subjects encompass. When I began working in this area more than 25 years ago, the subject of homemaking as it relates to families was largely overlooked, though the interest was clearly broad and the desire for information strong. My colleagues and I soon discovered we were satisfying a deeply felt unmet need."
