Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for good friends. I got out with Palm Trees and 8 yesterday and we had a great time shopping, eating and venting. I needed it more than I even realized. I've been unloading a lot lately to my friends, and they are always gracious and full of loving advice. I'm going to try to stop though, and be more positive. Debbie Downers can be, well, Debbie Downers, right? Plus, intense bulging forehead veins are so last year.

I am thankful for lovely surprises. A week or so ago, we received a beautiful live wreath in the mail from Scott's Aunt Jean. We very rarely get to see her, and were touched she remembered us during this busy season!!! Isn't it beautiful?!

I am thankful for my new dress form!!! I can't wait to start making clothes that will be ugly at first, but then get better with some practice... you know, once I get my sewing area cleaned up.
I think I'm going to make skirts first, and then some blouses, cap sleeved no doubt, and later dresses. I'm so excited!!!!!!

okay, how do you still look so young and skinny? And you are so talented - good thing you are so funny, or it would be hard for me to be friends with you! The jealousy would eat away at my soul....

...next time you need to get out and vent to someone, just hop on a plane and come up here!!! What were you thinking????

You're right. We are long lost sisters. My friends have been getting an earful lately as well! What a gorgeous wreath on your front door...without question, that is a wonderful gift!

I always thought those things were just to look cool in store windows.

I will be sending you a bigger dress from in the future so that when you have it down you can sew something for me...or maybe I will just wait long enough until I lose all the weight and then you can make me soemthing using yours. :)

"My professional life has been centered on the home, the well being of the family and everything that these subjects encompass. When I began working in this area more than 25 years ago, the subject of homemaking as it relates to families was largely overlooked, though the interest was clearly broad and the desire for information strong. My colleagues and I soon discovered we were satisfying a deeply felt unmet need."
