Resolutions 2008

I can't believe it's 2008. This year has been full of changes and really, an unhealthy amount of stress. Especially for someone like me, who again, doesn't deal well with any kind of pressure. Unlike other folks, I don't like to "shake things up".

But this is a new year, and I should improve myself and try to do better in every way. So, here are my resolutions. I figure writing them down for all the world (or my 3 readers) to see will put me on the spot and in turn, motivate me to actually follow through.

1. Lose weight! (Notice I didn't write, "Get Back in Shape" because that would be a lie. First of all, I don't care about health. C'mon, it's not about health, it's about fitting into my clothes for the first time in a year without looking like a sausage. Second of all "Back" would insinuate I had ever really been "in Shape" to begin with.) My blog is all about honesty.

2. Get my house in order! (We've been here six months and my house still feels empty and cold. I need to get off my butt and finish all the little and big projects that plague my dreams. Painting, sewing, etc... This would also help with goal number one.)

3. Learn Korean! (Once I feel satisfied with goal number two, I want to get Rosetta Stone. Then I can pass myself off as a real Korean and not feel ashamed about my butchering of the language. In the local paper, two Korean business women were showcased and I want to be their friends. I'm totally heading over there with rice cakes in hand. Learning Korean will finally make me legit!!! Yessssss.)

I'd love to know what your resolutions are. Please leave a comment or two... or three, ok four. My friends and family say they read my blog, but without a comment they have no proof. Plus, if you leave a comment, I'll say nice things about you in my next few posts. The more comments, the more compliments. Sounds good, right?

I want lots and lots of comments!! He! He! Here are my 2008 resolutions:

Get to where I have a photography job 2x a month
Run Richmond marathon 5:30 or better

OK, that's it. No, I have to desire right now to stop yelling at my kids or to be more spiritual. I don't want to set myself up for failure!! :)

Okay, here are my resolutions.
1. Lose weight. Any amount. Anything will do. Please.
2. Get a teacher's aide certification.
3. Be less sarcastic. I've been told this is a slight problem.

"My professional life has been centered on the home, the well being of the family and everything that these subjects encompass. When I began working in this area more than 25 years ago, the subject of homemaking as it relates to families was largely overlooked, though the interest was clearly broad and the desire for information strong. My colleagues and I soon discovered we were satisfying a deeply felt unmet need."
