A Great Tip

OK, so if you know me well, you know I have no love for animals. Yes, I'm a hata' and that's ok. It's one of the things I don't have in common with Martha. That, and her love for crafts. Who has time for all that?

Anyway, in our last house, we had a problem with stray cats. We lived in an old neighborhood and there was a crazy old cat lady who lived across the street. She would feed the strays, thus keeping them close by and pooping in my garden. So, periodically, I would get a big ole' handful of poo when I cleaned out my garden bed. After a couple of years, my frustration built up to the point of spraying them with water, throwing rocks, and chasing them violently out of my yard. (Who's the crazy lady now?) I even trained my kids to "get rid of them".

Fortunately, we don't have a cat problem anymore. Unfortunately, we now have a rabbit problem. Rather than pooping in my garden, they're just eating all my plants. What do you do? Well, I'll tell you.

Little Grace's teacher gave her A Great Tip: Take some hair off your hairbrush and wrap it around the plants that rabbits typically like. Hostas, hydrangeas, etc... They will smell your scent and stay away! So brilliant and much more humane than what I was going to do.

Teachers don't get paid nearly enough.

Hey girl I must know you well, cause I remembered that about you. As you may remember I can't stand cats either. So, today I saw a cat lying behind my tree I looked at it and hissed (the thing knows I hate it). From one cat despiser to another...mwachhhh...

You can also use clippings from a hair cut and sprinkle them around.

I'm a crazy cat lady too... in the sense that I HATE stray animals and throw rocks at them too... lol! By the way, I do love your sarcasm and humor... you ALWAYS crack me up. That's a good idea too with the hair.

We finaly planted our garden this weekend...yes, a LOT late, but that's ok...we do what we got to do.

We haven't planted in a few years because the rabbits and squirrels got everything last time...we sprayed "deer off" and so far it seems to be working...but, just to be safe, i am off to clean out all my hairbrushes....I heard this works too.

No wonder the barbers were sprinkling hair in that movie, crap, can't remember the name, but that guy throws real fast pitches and plays pro and he's like in his 40's.

"My professional life has been centered on the home, the well being of the family and everything that these subjects encompass. When I began working in this area more than 25 years ago, the subject of homemaking as it relates to families was largely overlooked, though the interest was clearly broad and the desire for information strong. My colleagues and I soon discovered we were satisfying a deeply felt unmet need."
