Thankful Thursday

This "Tennessee sunset" is a picture c/o Funny Mom, Alice's "I'm so Funny" blog. Can you believe she took this through her windshield?!

I was going to wait until tomorrow to do this because I am oh so tired, but that wouldn't be right. Thankful Friday?

-I'm thankful for modern medicine and good insurance! I spent the evening in the ER with Grace because she fell of a swing and broke her wrist. We were in and out with x-rays, referral and temporary cast within a couple of hours. The doctors and staff were excellent and Gracie is my hero. She is one tough cookie who didn't cry or whine the entire time. Now off to the orthopedist!

-I am thankful for full fat cream because it's just so good. When we lived in Germany this last time, Scott and I would drink it right out of the bottle. I know that sounds gross, but I don't care what you say... it's delicious and soothing. I have a wonderful recipe for panna cotta that I'll post soon.

-I am thankful for blogging. It's become a daily therapy. Even if I can't write, reading other people's blog pages and the hilarious comments is so entertaining. It's also kept me in touch with good friends like Erika from HHS, made new friends like Alice the great, and have gotten to know my current friends a lot better. What's not to love?

-I am thankful for Spring. Tennessee is truly one of the beautiful places on earth and I am so grateful to be here. Last year at this time, we were scrambling to sell our house, find a new one, and it was very stressful. I am truly amazed at God's grace. (Gardening is also very therapeutic, can you tell?)

Renee, you know you can use any of my pictures, whenever you want.

I am grateful for many of the same things. Tennessee weather and blogging are two of my favorite right now too.

I like your thankful thoughts. I would be thankful for spring too...if we had one that is. Right now it's snowing so hard I can't see across the street and the temperature over the next few days will hover around 20F with lows all the way down to 5F. This sucks...

But, I do love that German cream too...and the full fat yogurt

Oh - and the moving plans...so far down the road, why start?? We know which area we want to look for land, and we have a fair idea of what we want in a house. All we need is money and then we are set. Also we need to fix up our house enough to sell

And I miss German fries w/mayo, their yogurt, and spaghetti ice!! I'd love to go back some day!

"My professional life has been centered on the home, the well being of the family and everything that these subjects encompass. When I began working in this area more than 25 years ago, the subject of homemaking as it relates to families was largely overlooked, though the interest was clearly broad and the desire for information strong. My colleagues and I soon discovered we were satisfying a deeply felt unmet need."
