What's worth a splurge????!!!

Losing weight was actually one of my more realistic goals for 2009 and so far, I've not done horribly. BUT...

I've heard people say, including my husband, that diets don't work, but I disagree. OK, crash diets don't work, but cutting back a little on calories normally makes a person lose a few pounds, right? The problem I have is the exercising. I don't want to.... and I didn't have to exercise to stay thin until about six months ago. Remember when I posted a bragger list including a "don't have to exercise to stay skinny" boast? Well, since then, I've developed a muffin top and a double chin....so, Touche'.

For about two weeks I was actually working out on a regular basis. Probably because my kids were sick and I was running out of things to do... and the prospect of doing another craft nearly made me throw up in my own mouth. So, I dusted off my tread mill and popped in my old 90's "Firm" videos. Unfortunately, I then fell ill, took a hiatus, and am back to square one.

So rather than dwelling on my lack of gumption, I thought I'd post a whole bunch of pictures of cupcakes. Mmmmm, yummy, yummy motivation.

Ah crud... thanks for ruining my diet with those pictures. I gained 5 just drooling over them! I am glad that you are feeling better!

Get above a size 5 and then I'll feel sorry for you.

I wish my problem only started 6 months ago!! Lucky-
Well, at least take heart in the fact that I (and a trillion others) are on the treadmill, too. I'm actually to the point where I enjoy the exercising. Cutting calories is my bane- I wanna eat everything and anything :) I figure IF I ever get them both down I'll be skinny as a rail. IF...

Ah Renee! I love your sense of humor! You should never think you're fat, or ugly--you are the epitomy of beauty, grace and sophistication. Besides, at least you have all your teeth--funny story, my dad accidently dropped a laminator on my moms face and knocked out her front tooth--I know, how in the world does anyone accidently get a laminator dropped on their face? Long story, now she can come live with me in KY, and fit in to boot! Miss ya lots! Keep up you spirits, you're just perfect the way you are!

Oh my goodness!!! Those look so tasty. I wish I could join you for cupcakes and a little treadmill time, both of which I oddly enjoy. Just generally not together.

Yum! The strawberry ones are divine! I have made them and the recipe is really good, but not as good as the real thing from Sprinkles!

I hate the idea of paying $4 for a cupcake...but some of theirs are really worth it! Like keylime...and eggnog...and the banana with dark chocolate...

Oh those cupcakes look good. I have a hard time believing that you've gained any weight. I just don't believe it.

"My professional life has been centered on the home, the well being of the family and everything that these subjects encompass. When I began working in this area more than 25 years ago, the subject of homemaking as it relates to families was largely overlooked, though the interest was clearly broad and the desire for information strong. My colleagues and I soon discovered we were satisfying a deeply felt unmet need."
