Thankful Thursday

It's been a great morning.

First of all, coming down from my high yesterday, when I had good friends over on and off, I figured today would be a bit of a let down.... but oh no!

Yesterday my girlfriend Cathy showed me a lovely book of patterns her mother-in-law gave her for Christmas. It's an Amy Butler binder with 25 different projects and they all looked pretty simple but delightfully fun. So, I thought, "Hmmm, that's something else I need to save up for!", right?

Skip to this morning: Well, couple of months ago Scott found in the deep dark recesses of his office, an old $50 Barnes & Noble gift card he received as a rep in Kentucky like 4 years ago. We thought it was surely expired, but when I tentatively tried to use it this morning online, it totally worked!! I was able to get not just one, but two Amy Butler pattern books for $49.10. Yippee!!!!
I am thankful for free stuff?
Why doesn't Martha have pattern books yet? I'll ask her next time we play Scrabble.

There is nothing like a sweet chunk of money coming out of nowhere! My MIL loves Amy Butler fabrics. I wonder if she has even see those two pattern books. I will have to let her know about them. Yeah for your good day two days in a row!!!

That's so much better than finding a quarter in the washing machine--which, by the way, totally makes me happy!

I lloovve Amy Butler fabric- we have a store here in town that carries a lot of her stuff- let me know if you have a really cool one. I have several purse patterns that I have made- and I love them but they are not cheap to make with her fabrics!!!

Hi! The book I was reading (and unfortunately didn't finish before it was due back at the library) was "The Secret History of the Pink Carnation" my friend really liked it but I didn't get very far into it- it was just a busy time without a lot of reading. I am hoping to check it out again. I am also reading "A Gift From the Sea" and so far I really like it. Now we can be book twins, too :) Happy reading!!

"My professional life has been centered on the home, the well being of the family and everything that these subjects encompass. When I began working in this area more than 25 years ago, the subject of homemaking as it relates to families was largely overlooked, though the interest was clearly broad and the desire for information strong. My colleagues and I soon discovered we were satisfying a deeply felt unmet need."
