Jealous of the Rhyme and the Rhyme Routine

Rev Lowery's Inauguration Prayer

“When brown can stick around”“When yellow can be mellow”“When the red man can be the head man”"And when white will embrace what is right"

I guess I could be more mellow.

Should I be offended by this, or continue to giggle because I think he ran out of rhymes? In his defense, "yellow" is a very hard word to rhyme with. (fellow, jello, Othello ) That's it.

This is very "Meet the Parents"! Do you remember Ben Stiller/Greg Focker's Prayer"? He doesn't know what to say so he launches into a tortured prayer that segues, to his own horror, into lyrics from "Godspell,"
"We thank You for the smörgåsbord You have so aptly laid at our table this day, and each day, by day, day by day, by day, three things we pray, to love Thee more dearly, to see Thee more clearly, to follow Thee more nearly, day, by day, by day. Amen. "

Oh my goodness!!! Of all the posts I have read on this admittedly odd end to the prayer this has to be the funniest.

And just for the record I am soooo gonna stick around.

ok I love your "be happy" comment because I live in this really demented fairy tale world that everyone should be happy. Well, why not! Happiness is of God and otherwise from our evil brother. ;)

Wow- I guess I should have actually stopped doing laundry to watch the thing ... I had no idea he said that (yes, I do in fact live in a hole). Now jello would have made for a very interesting line :)

"My professional life has been centered on the home, the well being of the family and everything that these subjects encompass. When I began working in this area more than 25 years ago, the subject of homemaking as it relates to families was largely overlooked, though the interest was clearly broad and the desire for information strong. My colleagues and I soon discovered we were satisfying a deeply felt unmet need."
